Questions

What JSON can be turned into CSV?

An array of objects or an array of arrays. Each object becomes a row, and every key that appears in any object becomes a column. Nested objects and arrays are written into the cell as JSON.

Does CSV β†’ JSON turn numbers into numbers?

With "Convert numbers and true/false" on, yes, but only when the value would print back exactly the same. So 42 becomes a number, while 007 and 1.50 stay strings, because converting them would lose the leading zero or trailing zero.

Which YAML is supported?

YAML 1.2, including anchors, multi-line strings and comments. Comments are dropped when converting to JSON, because JSON has none. A file with several documents separated by --- is not supported; convert one document at a time.

Is my data uploaded?

No. Conversion happens in your browser, and the page’s security policy blocks it from sending your data anywhere.
