Questions
Is this generator secure?
Yes. It uses crypto.getRandomValues, your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, and gives every character an equal chance. The passwords are never sent anywhere or saved, and are gone when you close the tab.
How long should a password be?
Aim for at least 80 bits of entropy, shown above the list. With all four character sets that is 13 characters or more; 20 is a comfortable default for a password manager.
What are look-alike characters?
Characters that are easy to confuse when read: capital I, lowercase l, the digit 1, capital O, lowercase o and the digit 0. Leaving them out costs a little entropy, so add a character or two to make up for it.
