Questions

Which HTML entities are decoded?

All of them: named ones like &copy; and &nbsp;, and numeric ones like &#169; and &#xA9;. Escaping only changes the five characters that matter in HTML: & < > " and '.

Can I unescape a JSON string with its quotes?

Yes. Paste it with or without the surrounding double quotes. A bare " in the middle, or an escape JSON doesn’t have, like \x41, is an error.

What hex formats can be decoded?

Bytes with or without separators: 68656c, 68 65 6c, 68:65:6c and 0x68 0x65 0x6c all work. The bytes must be valid UTF-8 text.
